The Alaska Campground Owner’s Association (ACOA) represents campgrounds throughout Alaska and is a member-owned non-profit. Our vision is to provide outdoor hospitality excellence to the camping public in Alaska.

ACOA campgrounds are generally privately owned, and each Alaskan campground is as unique as its owner. Wherever you are in Alaska, you are never far from an ACOA campground. Because of the variety of members and services offered, we can meet the needs of campers from all backgrounds. We understand that you are looking for your own unique Alaskan traveling experience and we strive to fulfill your expectations.

Are you looking for a peaceful camping site by a lake or near a glacier? A park with the conveniences of the city? Access to local tourist activities? ACOA member parks can accommodate your traveling style, whether you are traveling in a motorhome, fifth wheel, pop-up, or tent camping. Many of our members also offer room and cabin rentals. There are many camping choices in Alaska; and ACOA members offer amenities such as shower and laundry facilities, Wi-Fi, dining, gift and convenience stores, local information, activity booking, and much more. Whether it is hiking and fishing adventure in the great outdoors, Alaska Native culture, or sightseeing you are looking for, we are confident our member parks have what you need.

Chicken Gold Camp & Outpost

Chicken Gold Camp (Chicken RV Park) has electric and “dry” sites, tent camping, and cabin rentals. It is a National Historic Site offering tours of the Pedro Gold Dredge, gold panning, and recreational gold prospecting. It has a gift shop with Alaska-made items, and restaurant with a coffee/smoothie bar, as well as wood-fired pizza, served on the deck several nights each week. Special events such as Chickenstock Music Festival are offered.

An ideal stopping point close to major attractions. Located near the entrance to the National Park Service Wrangell-St. Elias Visitor Center, Northern Nights Campground and Cabins has accommodated RV travelers since 1989. With 28 mostly pull-thru campsites, including five back-in full-hookup sites, and two duplex-style log cabin rental units, the campground offers a variety of accommodations. There is also a shower house plus dry camping sites and laundry.

Ranch House Lodge

Built in the late ‘40s, the lodge is one of the oldest roadhouses still in operation. The original builders used sled dog teams to haul logs and supplies to this historic landmark.
