Description: There are over 30 different species of pikas, most of which live in Asia, but the collared pika (Ochotona collaris) is the only species of pika found in Alaska. I finally found a cute little Collared Pika (pronounced pee-ka) to pose for me at Hatcher’s. I usually only get to capture the Arctic Ground Squirrels up there so it was fun to watch this little cutie and practice my different camera settings! Photo taken at Hatcher’s Pass -July 2021
