Alaska magazine Photo Contest

Description: The weather in late August has been bleak but there was one good sunny day on the weather report and we need we had to take advantage of it. So we woke up at 5am to get on the Denali Park Rd and staged for hopefully some epic sunrise light. There was a freeze over that night so we had some intense ice fog out in the tundra and when the light just peaked over the mountain tops to the East this golden bath took over the landscape and started to reflect off of the fog. It was pure magic all around and in that frantic state to try and get a photograph I slowed down and tried to get a little bit of everything in this one. The layered mountain ranges to the back, the ice crisped foliage on the ground, and the trees not yet lit up in the daylight.
