Description: It feels like just yesterday that I was speeding across a glacier on a snow-machine. The brisk Alaska winds nipped at my cheeks as the stars stared down at me. The Aurora danced overhead as her glow lit up the snow covered mountains all around. The ice cave I had been exploring just moments before shrunk behind me as I zoomed away. Even in the darkness you could see my childish grin beaming. I had just captured my Bucket List Shot. Ever since coming to Alaska I have dreamt about capturing this image. I have a fascination with ice caves. The colors they produce and the glow that seems to flow out of the ice is something that mesmerizes me. Then there's the Aurora. Paint-strokes dancing in the night sky lighting up the world with her magical display. So why not combine the two?! Well, much easier said than done. Research, work, gear, friends, talent, skill, weather, and a hell of a lot of luck all played a huge role in this undertaking. It's not perfect, but it's definitely my favorite photo.. at least so far!
