Description: Divot, a coastal brown bear #854, at Brooks Falls in Katmai National Park, Alaska. Taken July 4th, 2022, this photo took on new meaning for me when I learned that this bear, fondly named Divot, survived a human mistake when she encountered a wolf snare many years ago, and in doing so, she also earned her true independence.
