Description: My family and I took a ferry to Kodiak Island at the start of August, which is where we would be camping for the next week to come. It was a bucket list trip for all of us and we were in the mood to explore this new place. The road system in Kodiak is limited to say the least but we were determined to see it all. Travel was slow for there were limitless mountains, streams, valleys, and beaches to hike but eventually, we made it to the end of the longest road. Because of the explorer mentality invoked in us, we decided to continue further by foot. This was one of the best decisions of the trip for we were quickly surrounded by beauty on all sides. Every time I see this photo, I am reminded of the immense beauty of Alaska and am beyond grateful to call it home.
