Description: Diving in Alaska is always a challenge. The cold, the murky water, and the remoteness of most of the state pose unique challenges. But I LOVE it. This photo was made in July 2023 in the waters off Admiralty Island. July is "jelly season" in Southeast Alaska - after our plankton bloom, the jellies come in to feast and we see lots and lots of them in the water and they're one of my favorite critters to photograph. Enjoy this moon jelly!
