Description: Every summer in Alaska, thousands of salmon move upstream to spawn and die. Coastal brown bears gravitate to these areas rich in salmon to feed. These bears use different methods to catch fish including walking along the creek looking for salmon in the shallows and then when they spot one, charging in to the water in attempt to make a catch. This photo was taken at the Moraine Creek in Katmai National Park, where I sat on the creek bank watching and photographing the many bears that passed by looking for salmon.
