Description: Just after sunrise on a misty morning in Lake Clark National Park, this fluffy little brown bear cub was busy poking around the low tide flats in search of clams. But when it noticed me lying flat on the beach with my camera, it paused mid-step, stuck out its tiny tongue, and gave me a look that said, “Are you the one bringing snacks?” The combination of its puzzled expression, awkward stride, and tongue peek made the moment completely irresistible. I shot from ground level to match the cub’s perspective—and perhaps to hide my laughter.
