There are more ways than ever to celebrate the holidays at the fairgrounds this year. The Alaska State Fair has partnered with the Christmas Factory to present a brand-new holiday event: the Yuletide Festival, an old-fashioned Christmas celebration offering holiday fun for all ages. Tickets are on sale now at alaskastatefair.org.
The Yuletide Festival will be held Thursdays through Sundays, December 5-8, 12-15 and 19-22, from 5-10 p.m. Step out of the dark and into an immersive magical experience with lights aglow. Take a spin on the carnival carousel or a ride on the slide. Visit with Christmas elves and sip on mulled wine, beer or a holiday mocktail. Cozy up around the bonfire or grab a bite from one of the festive food trucks and listen to live entertainment. Enjoy Christmas themed activities inside our tent and outside. Yuletide Festival tickets are $10 per person, or purchase a ticket to the Bright Up the Night drive-through holiday light display and add the Yuletide Festival for just $5 per person.
This year’s Bright Up the Night exhibit is bigger and brighter than ever, with new, larger displays spanning the length of the fairgrounds. Bright Up the Night will be open Thursdays through Sundays from November 28-December 8, and daily from December 12-31, from 5-9 p.m. Tickets, starting at $20 per vehicle, are on sale now at alaskastatefair.org.
The Christmas Factory tours are also back at the fairgrounds this holiday season. Families can enjoy an interactive tour through Santa’s Workshop with a sweet treat at Mrs. Claus’ bakery, take a peek inside the reindeer barn, power up Santa’s sleigh with some Christmas spirit, visit the wrapping room and toy factory, and even meet Santa himself! The Christmas Factory tickets are on sale now at akchristmas.com.
Other upcoming events include the Holiday Bazaar and the Mighty Monster BooFest. The 2024 Holiday Bazaar will be held October 12-13 and 19-20 at Raven Hall and Hoskins Building, Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sundays 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. The event features a wide range of gifts and more than 100 vendors. Admission is free.
This year’s Might Monster BooFest takes place Saturday, October 26, from 6-10 p.m. The annual brewfest, endorsed by the Brewers Guild of Alaska, features beers and brewers from the Mat-Su Valley, across Alaska and around the world, as well as a Halloween costume contest, live music, silent auction, and food available for purchase. Tickets to the 21+ event are $10 for designated drivers and $40 for beer drinkers, and are available now at alaskastatefair.org.
