These ten images received the most online votes from readers when the 2021 Photo Contest was open for submissions. Congratulations to these photographers for creating compelling images!
Winners selected by Alaska magazine’s editorial team were announced in the February print edition and will be viewable online at the beginning of February.
This photo of a proposal on Knik Glacier by Bill Alcock received the most audience votes of any submitted to the 2021 contest with 489 votes. This photo by Nick Brown was the second-most popular photo submitted to the 2021 contest with 362 votes. Brown writes, “The northern lights ignite the sky above Eklutna Tailrace, reflecting in the glacial water below.” This photo by J. Bryan received the third most audience votes of any image entered in the 2021 contest with 326 votes. “Portage Pass trail is one of my favorite hikes in the summer. I love the wildflowers and the view of the glacier!” Bryan writes.
