At least that is Ed and Elias Stratton’s motto after an incident they had traveling down the Skwentna River. Elias Stratton and his father Ed had both navigated the river before and knew that it was best to stay to the left of the river but recognized how high the river was after flooding that occurred earlier in the year. Ed, owner of Alaska Big Game Guides, was piloting the airboat when he noticed a deadhead and quickly turned the boat to avoid it but clipped the sand bar in the process.
